General Surgery Department

The general surgery department is one of the provincial key departments After nearly a century of development, the department of general surgery is currently divided five further specialty subdepartments (Gastrointestinal Surgery; Minimally invasive Surgery; Hepato-bilio-pancreatic Surgery; Thyroid & mammary gland Surgery; and Vascular Surgery). The wards have been expanded to three sections and holding 220 beds. Its faculty includes 8 chief surgeons, 9 associate surgeons, 9 attending doctors, and 8 residents.



Gastrointestinal Surgery: It performs variety of surgical operations with proficient techniques: radical corrections of gastric carcinoma, gastric cardia carcinoma, rectum carcinoma, duodenopancreatectomy, portal hypertension devascularization, splenectomy, all kind of pediatric surgeries, Slow transmission constipation, adult congenital megacolon, and laparoscopic gastric cardia carcinoma, colorectal cancer radical corrections.

Daorong Wang: associate professor, chief physician, MD, Advisor of Master . vice director of Gastrointestinal Surgery Dept. Special interests:. gastric carcinoma radical surgery; radical surgeries of all kinds of cancer of colon; portal hypertension devascularization; and laparoscopic cancer of gastrointestinal surgery.

Hepato-bilio-pancreatic Surgery, Minimally invasive Surgery: The department of Hepato-bilio-pancreatic Surgery can provide proficient surgical techniques for patients with liver, Biliary, Pancreatic ,Spleen and duodenum illness. The Department of Minimally invasive Surgery performs laparoscopic operations for appendix,gallbladder,thyroid,intestine cancer,splenectomy,results in minimally trauma,less blood loss,and faster recovery.

Thyroid & mammary gland Surgery Department:The department is the largest and most powerful department in Yangzhou region equipped with advanced diagnosis and treatment equipment. It performs mainly the early diagnosis of thyroid and mammary gland disease, and radical operations for thyroid carcinoma and mammary gland oncology.

Jiaxin Zhang:Chief Physician, Professor, Advisor of Master , Vice Director of General surgery Dept,Director of Thyroid & mammary gland Surgery Dept. The vascular surgery is a new specialty in Jiangsu province. It can perform all kind of vascular surgery and endovascular interventional treatment such as a variety of complex surgical treatment of vascular disease, aortic dissection, carotid body tumors, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and carotid artery and so on.
